TABLE TENNIS – SPORTS SCIENCE
If you want to help kids develop physical literacy, it’s hard to beat table tennis. It develops skills that kids need such as throwing, catching, striking, and jumping. It also promotes agility, coordination, balance, and manual dexterity great for anyone but also older population.
Manual dexterity-the ability to use your hands skillfully-is an essential physical capacity in almost every part of modern life. From typing on keypads to cooking in kitchens, we need our hands to perform skillfully for us
And there’s more. The ball moves quickly in table tennis, so players need to practice concentration. They also need to develop an understanding of time and space to react with their paddle. All of this enhances the brain connections that support concentration and spatial awareness.
You can help your child get the right start in school and life by encouraging active play and physical literacy from a young age. Or, the Sport can help older populations to learn the skills while having fun  and slow down the aging process. There is so much more to learn
